Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT)

Optical Coherence Tomography, or OCT, is a technique for obtaining high magnification cross-sectional images of the retina. Light waves are used to reflect light off of the retinal and create a very detailed view of the retinal layers.  There is no radiation in this procedure. OCT is used for a variety of macular conditions and is essential for patients with macular degeneration, edema, or holes.
